We’ve seen many smartphone laptop duos before, but all of them use the phone as a cpu. RAZOR is putting a twist to this with their Project Linda accessory for their Razor Phone. This project was just revealed at CES this year, and it turns the Razor Phone into a high-functioning trackpad as well as the brains.
How the Razor Phone Works in Project Linda
RAZOR has previously released the Razor Blade Stealth laptop, and the Project Linda is rather similar to it. The main difference is that it’s been modified to accommodate the Razor Phone. Besides the trackpad, the power button and speakers are also removed because the phone replaces both. All you need to do to use this us to place your phone into the slot and press a hardware button. A USB-C port will slide into place to lock your phone down and connect everything. Project Linda offers an additional 200GB of storage and charges the phone along the way.
Since it’s still a prototype, not all of the apps are going to work as smoothly as others. But in general they should work as they do on Android tablets. Currently, the laptop screen mirrors the phone, but adjustments will be made to allow it to have duo display capabilities.
Updates and Pricing
Since this has only just been unveiled at CES, it’s still going to take a while before this becomes a legit consumer product. RAZOR has yet to provide a release date and pricing, so we’re gonna have to wait for this accessory. So, out of all the awesome tech we’ve been covering for CES 2018, which one is your personal favorite? I’m sure we all know which is mine.
