As a person with a crap ton of electronics, power strips are an absolute essential for me. Whether I am at home or going on trips, I have to have a power strip with me to charge all my stuff. From my smartphone to power banks to my PSVita, I don’t think I can survive on one wall socket alone. Traditional power strips only come with standard sockets, but in this day and age where we demand central control, it’s time for a change. Tech company Allocacoc has redesigned the power strip with their PowerStrip Modular. Instead of giving you everything at once, Allocacoc lets you mix and match different functioning parts to suit your lifestyle.
How the PowerStrip Modular Works
With every PowerStrip Modular, you get their base sockets part, and everything else is added on to this. Personally, I only need standard sockets and USB ports, so I got those. Instead of plugging the USB wire into a bulky wall plug, you can insert it directly into the USB slots in the power strip. I got my power banks charged up pretty quickly with those. So this is definitely THE combination I need.
Of course, there are other parts for other purposes. I already have my beloved Danboard power banks, so I didn’t get them. But the PowerStrip Modular does have a power bank module you can charge up and take with you for on-the-go charging. The wifi extender is also another great idea perfect for use in rooms farther away from the router if you live in a bigger place (unlike me). Last but not least, their switch module can be programmed to control your lights and whatnot for convenient use. No more extra wires running all over the floor now when there’s a much smarter way to do things. Simply snap them on!
For those who are interested, head over to their Kickstarter! At EUR26 (~USD32), you can get their Early Bird Deal for one base module and an additional add-on module of your choice.
