With how health and fitness obsessed this generation of people are, fitness trackers now come in all shapes and sizes. From smartphone apps to keychains to smart wearables, the options are endless. We’ve talked about Fitbit and Moov Now in previous articles, but because everyone has different needs, here’s another one for you to consider. The Biostrap fitness tracker comes in 2 parts to better and more accurately track and measure our biometrics in levels that other devices have yet reached in their design and technology.
As mentioned just now, this fitness tracker comes in two parts: the wrist ‘watch’ and the shoe pod. The wrist part does pretty much everything a normal Fitbit will do, which includes tracking your heart rate, oxygen saturation, and respiratory rate. And instead of using green light to penetrate into the body to get the readings, Biostrap is opting for both red and infrared lights which penetrate a lot deeper and are thus able to measure more data like HRV (aka your biological age).
But the shoe pod is the revolutionary piece here, because it tracks how you’re performing for your exercises. All you need to do is to slip it on the laces of your trainers, and along with its wrist counterpart, it will automatically track the different exercises you are doing. Whether you are running or doing jumping jacks or even weight training, Biostrap will know learn along the way and get to know what your body is doing to start its calculations. From the videos, this fitness tracker is mainly used for running and common gym room exercises, but with its ability to track your movement accurately, this might be able to help you get certain skills down on pat by telling you how to adjust your body to perform them better.
All the data will be sent to you via an accompanying exclusive app (iOS only; Android version on beta trial), so you can better track and understand not only how your body is feeling, but also what changes it has undergone over a period of time. Biostrap knows to sync and download everything automatically, so you don’t have to spend time refreshing every time you want open the app. It comes with its own charging dock for both parts for your charging convenience, and it currently comes in 3 colors: Black, Navy Blue, and White.
If you are interested in getting your hands on this fitness tracker, head on over to their website to order and for more information. It’s currently priced at USD250, and ships internationally.
