DECORATE ANY ROOM

Knowing what you want for your room is essential. The better way to divide and decorate your home is using a room divider. Knowing your space and how you intend to manage the space setup is vital.

When you want to use a room divider, you can either buy one or create a makeshift with different common household items. While makeshifts are great, using a room divider makes it easier for the floor and other parts of your space to be properly set up. The divider also helps with adjustments and modifications you want to make in the room

Before dividing a room, you should have a list of all the items in your space. Also, you need to measure the length and width of the room, as this will aid the type of arrangement you intend to create in your space.

Getting Started

  • Determine what goes where: Determining where the essential items sit on your space is heavily influenced by the style you intend to create. While you may not want to achieve a minimalist style, you should get rid of unnecessary items in your space. An old plaque given to you after College may have some sentimental value, but the plaque’s quality have greatly reduced. Do you still need the plaque to boldly sit on your television stand?
  • Using the wall divider: A wall can be used as a divider, but the cost value attached to creating one seems overwhelming for many persons when in their space. Room dividers provide the perfect opportunity to break up your space into various segments allowing for easy movement and partition of the allocated area to vary. You can use them to change the layout of a room, provide extra privacy, maximize storage space, or just create a change of scenery.
  • Curtains: Curtains are very important when arranging, redesigning or remodeling your room. The primary wall color should either blend in with your curtain or create a beautiful contrast. When dividing and redecorating your space, you may need to buy new curtains—especially if you are repainting your space.
  • Section off an area with a rug: this can be done by placing the chairs just after the rug. The rug can serve as the centerpiece and create a balance for other designed accessories in making your home beautiful. You could add additional effects by contrasting the rug’s color to that of other materials (say your cotton or your wall art) in that very space. This would normally give a different outlook and produce a different feel to the home. For others, their choice of rug color would match other accessories in the space.
  • Create a multipurpose area: A multipurpose are is a sound idea, especially if you are working with a large space. The multipurpose area, for instance, could be decorated with musical instruments like guitars, keyboard, and drums, if you love music. The theme of your multipurpose space depends on what you like the most. Other themes include football, tennis, basketball, science lab, zoo, and more. You can also buy some wall arts and decorate the multipurpose area. A mat, some pillows, and two or three small chairs may make all the difference. Also, your choice of divider matters. If you use a curtain, you need to determine color, length, and convenience.

  • Some flooring, please: If you have the budget, a small flooring change can make all the difference in your home. Also, changing paint colors from the dining area to the living room would help the spaces feel different. With different paint colors, the scenery felt from one room is different from that felt from the other. If you love a uniform outlook, then you can opt for a single color throughout the rooms or a mix of two colors.
  • Lighting: Lightning is an integral part of divide and decorate any room. Lighting may simply illuminate or you can tweak a few colors to create an aura. Usually, the decision is almost-always based on your personality.
