So last night I introduced the water bottle that cleans itself. Now, water bottles may be hard to clean, but at least it is not a particularly gross or dirty object to wash. Cleaning the toilet, on the other hand, is probably not a very pleasant chore. Luckily, now even your toilet can clean itself, thanks to SpinX.

You may have seen those Japanese toilet seats that clean you with a jet of water. SpinX is similarly armed, but aiming in the other direction. Underneath the lid there are soap and water jets, as well as an automated brush that is hidden in a small cavity when not in use. All you have to do is select the cleaning program, press a button, and voila! An unpleasant chore is done effortlessly. The dynamic scanning and thorough brushing system ensures that every spot is squeaky clean.

Sometimes water alone isn’t enough for the cleaning task at hand. The included tank allows you to put in your favourite cleaner. You can purchase SpinX’s own cleaning tablets. The tablets will last 50 washing cycles. Or, you can pour in suitable cleaner you have at home, since they will be compatible as well.

The SpinX runs on a removable and rechargeable Li-ion battery. SpinX operates on a low power consumption of 12V, so that the battery can last through more than 30 cleaning cycles on a single charge. The battery port is located conveniently at the front of the lid for easy removal and plugging back in after a charge. When it’s time to juice up, simply place the battery in the charging station. Since it is splash proof, you can install the station on your bathroom counter for maximum convenience.

The SpinX comes in two sizes: elongated and round. It should fit 98% of toilets, and the manufacturer claims that ‘if you do not have a square toilet, SpinX will probably fit’. SpinX boasts a clean design, and even better, the lid is ‘sittable’ – it can support up to 330 pounds. This automatic toilet seat is now raising funds on Kickstarter, and it was fully funded within 24 hours. SpinX sets start at USD198, and from July 2018, you will no longer have to get your hands on the toilet.
