Storing leftovers and ingredients has always been a headache in my household. Most of the time food spoil before I could get to it, or I forget about it until it’s too late. Now our default method of storing food is either in plastic containers or covering it in cling film. Erik Spelt is now introducing a new form of food storage in the form of an easy-to-use Quva vacuum food-saving system. With this you can store food for much longer without worry.

How the Quva Vacuum System Works

Since oxygen is what deteriorates food, so getting it out is the most important part of keeping it fresh. Vacuum conditions allow food to be kept up to 5 times longer than usual. With the Quva vacuum, you can also avoid freezer burns. And you don’t have to worry about getting special freezer bags or containers because it’s compatible with most.

All you need to do to use this Quva vacuum system is to pull the middle section out. Put it in your container or bag, and press the button to suck the air out. For those who are worried about getting water in the system itself, it comes with a liquid stopper that prevents this. The system provides different modes that come with audio feedback for ease of use.

What Can the Quva Vacuum Do?

Besides storing food, it’s also a great way to go about getting your sous vide game on. Although for this you might need to use Quva’s own vacuum bags to get the best results. Impress your guests with soft and juicy meats cooked sous vide style when it’s oh so simple.
