Guitar is a very dynamic instrument; you can play all sorts of pieces, from soft ballads to heavy metal music. For a more complex performance, you might need a band to back you up, but that isn’t the easiest thing to find. You need a whole bunch of friends who can play different instruments, and you need a space large enough and with good enough sound insulation. With OneManBand by OMB Guitars, you can get backup from a full band, play different instruments on your guitar, and compose even when you’re going solo.

OneManBand Gives Full Band Backup

On the OneManBand app, you can select your preferred style of backup – the key, the genre, the loudness of each instrument, and more. The OneManBand guitar attachment acts as the bridge between the app and your instrument. As you play, the digital backup adjusts real-time, creating a full, dynamic performance. So no, the app isn’t just supplying canned backup mixes.

Play Other Instruments on Your Guitar

When you want a backup sound with a little bit more ‘you’, just create it yourself! With OneManBand, you can play the sounds of different instruments with just your guitar. Play as a violin, or a piano, then switch over to another instrument, and loop it back as your personal backup track.

Guitar-to-MIDI Lets You Compose and Lead a Band

OneManBand also lets you record MIDI from your guitar, so you can use your guitar to compose with your choice of software. Since your guitar will be a MIDI controller, it means that it will be front and centre in the lead. This fits are more modern, guitarist-lead pacing, shifting the band dynamics.

How Does It Work?

OneManBand comprises a guitar attachment, a companion app, and an optional foot pedal. You can buy the attachment and install it on your own electric or acoustic guitar that uses steel strings. The installation requires a tad of soldering, and the kit comes with a soldering iron for that. Alternatively, you can buy one of OneManBand’s guitars, which has got the attachment pre-installed. The attachment acts as the bridge between the app and the guitar, letting you control all the options listed above. For a hands-free experience, you can get the optional foot pedal, which lets you control the app with your foot.
