You might have heard of Microscape before when they first released their Manhattan model. Well, they’re back again after their first success with the Microscape model of Downtown Chicago. This 3D, highly detailed model is here to impress and look great in your space.

What’s the Microscape Model?

The masterminds behind this project are William Ngo of architectural design firm TO+WN Design and Alan Silverman from visualization firm AJSNY. These 3D models are usually a thing for architects amd not so much for the consumer market. But these two are bringing it to us, one beloved city at a time.

How This Works

This project involves detailed 3D scan data and manual computer modeling techniques. Like the Manhattan model, this Chicago version of the Microscape model can be easily updated as the designers go through data updates regularly. All this is to ensure that the 6 by 6 inch models are as detailed and accurate as possible.

Currently, only white is available because they use a starch-based solution. Though the duo promises there will be other colors available soon. They will also be releasing a survey soon to let people choose the quantity of the models they’d like. Of course, there are other things like t-shirts and bags that are also available. Personally, I think these will look great as decor in an office space. The white will make a great contrast with any wood or dark surfaces. And because you get to choose which area of the city you want, it’s a lot more personal.
